Character Name: Laika

Place of Origin: An AU of the Rockman EXE series, sometime after Stream.
Armored Description: N/A
Unarmored Description: Laika has short, aqua-green hair and blue eyes. Height-wise, he comes in at around 5'5", with a slim but fit build. He tends to wear his uniform a bit less often than most alternates of him might. His most preferred clothing, and what he's seen in most often when off-duty, is a simple black shirt with long sleeves and jeans with black boots. His body, especially his arms and torso, is covered by an assortment of scars courtesy of Dark Searchman. These are why he never wears short sleeves, as he would rather not explain the ones that look suspiciously like they came from restraints. More prominent scars are one on his left cheek, and another on his neck that continues down along his chest under his shirt. *Update* Laika now wears a thin black leather collar constantly, due to Dark Searchman telling him to and threatening violence upon Laika's friends if he ever removed it. He sees this as his duty and will react in a guarded manner to any attempts to bring up the subject.
-History and Personality-
Relationship to Nonhumans: Laika still has a tendency to sometimes look at navis as tools or partners, but for the most part he tends to see them as just another race of people. Especially lately, circumstances with Dark Searchman have forced him to acknowledge that there is a higher degree of similarity between navis and humans than most people think.
Backstory: Unlike in most realitites, Nebula arose as a problem shortly after the events of Stream in Laika's world. He and Searchman worked alongside Netto and Enzan and their navis for a time, fighting the Darkloids. Over time, Dark Blues came to be and Enzan managed to bring him back to sanity. Of course, Netto and Laika now knew from their friend's experience not to even consider using the Dark Chips. That didn't stop Dark Searchman from coming into existance.
Laika doesn't know how it happened. Dark Searchman won't say. All he knows is that one night after a mission, Searchman disappeared. Several days later, Laika found himself trapped inside a dimensional area and running from the Darkloid version of his former navi. Since then, Laika has been steadily more traumatized by Dark Searchman, who has resorted to constant mental, emotional, and physical abuse whenever they are near each other to try to break Laika's spirit and make him his "pet." Further guilt has been brought onto Laika by the fact that Dark Searchman is also targeting those close to him, as he did when he attacked and nearly killed Enzan and Blues.
He ended up in Reality Vanish by a stroke of luck--good or bad, he isn't sure. He had just escaped from Dark Searchman yet again, and passed out. He personally is fuzzy on the details, but something exploded nearby--a dimensional converter--and Laika was thrown into the Nexus. From there, friends he made in alternates of those he knew introduced him to Reality Vanish.
Personality in a Nutshell: Laika manages to be disturbingly calm most of the time, and when he doesn't make the effort to be happy or isn't around his friends, he's almost eerily lacking in most emotion. When he does show emotion, his happiness is a muted sort and any anger or fear seems almost exaggerated. Physical abuse of certain kinds from Dark Searchman has made him averse to physical contact. He will tolerate it from friends, because he knows they would never hurt him--but from others, he is highly uncomfortable. When Dark Searchman is nearby, he becomes highly emotional, and if the navi so much as brushes against him Laika is flung into a state of complete panic.
Update - As Dark Searchman has apparently calmed, Laika has as well, becoming at least slightly less unstable. He's more inclined to be of a cheerful personality and less nervous about the world around him--though he still has a slight complex about the navi, it's changed from fear to slight protectiveness due to Dark Searchman's recent canine issues.
